Successful people don’t born overnight. Successful people are forged after they pass through a million failures. It’s rare to see someone who is an ACTUAL SUCCESS and failed very few times at life. But…what about those times, when you have that impression that you only make mistakes, mistakes and more mistakes and NEVER reaches nowhere?
Have you felt like you are in a constant struggle to pursue success that never ends?
Have you thought on giving up because the things you try never work out?
There is an explanation.
Some attitudes that you need to take to be successful are definitely obscure and may not seem so obvious, but are CRUCIAL for your success in life.
I will show 9 things you should give up to become successful, and although you may not like what you are about to read, these are VERY important things to do in order to reach your goals in life.
Do you want to become successful?
Then spend 3 minutes with me in this tiny article bellow.
#1 GIVE UP YOUR MASK
You should put in your head that for YOU to be successful, you should be YOURSELF. Have the guts to be who you truly are without caring with being rejected or dissed. People are not living your life, people are not battling you battles and people don’t usually help you 90% of the times.
- You should be who you truly are to know who likes you or not
- You should be who you truly are in order to be immune to rejections
- You should be yourself in order to become the best version of you
Abandon your mask. This is the first attitude towards success.
#2 GIVE UP KEEP DREAMING WITH THE FUTURE
Dreams, hopes and everything else are great and are part of the motivation of why we keep battling day after day.
But the problem is when you just keep dreaming and forget to ACT at the present. Action is a very important feature of the human being and it’s the main one for you to be successful.
If you neglect your options you will never reach your goals. A dream is what you WANT to achieve, it’s your ideal, but for that to happen you need to ACT. Attitudes are small bricks that serve to build the ideal future.
Start some company to test an idea.
Start to study something new and see if you like it.
Learn a new ability and try to make money with it.
Action. After all, it’s better to LIVE the dream instead of just dream it.
#3 GIVE UP DOING SEVERAL THINGS AT THE SAME TIME
We are not cyborgs (I am, but I am an exception). Give up doing several things at once if you want to be successful in life. When you do lots of stuff at the same time, you end up by not doing nothing at all. That’s why failures are constant to some people.
Besides, nobody creates something with very high quality with very little work. If you want to be a successful blogger you need to write a lot, and write very well. If you want to become a dancer, then you should train dancing every single day.
Almost EVERYTHING you need constant dedication, so make it worth your time and focus on something.
#4 GIVE UP SEEKING PEOPLE’S APPROVAL
Nobody really cares with you, that is the HARSH truth. The battle is YOURS and so are the problems. Then WHY do you still keep worrying about what other people think of you? Why care?
Will they be at your deathbed?
Will they feel bad if your dreams aren’t reached?
Other people’s approval it’s only necessary when you are doing an S.A.T or a contest. Besides this, at real life my friend, what matters is what you think of yourself.
#5 GIVE UP TAKING “NO” AS A ANSWER
Many times a “no” doesn’t mean a real no, test it. Insist on it. See how much people are programmed to speak NO to people. The society only destroys your career towards success. Society sets patterns that make you be stable — but not stable in a good way — and emotionless and without evolution.
According to society, taking “no” as an answer is a motive for them to be able to mock you. So instead of being MOTIVATED by society to keep getting NO as an answer up until the YES comes, you are harshly mocked because of it.
Society doesn’t teach a special secret for personal development:
When you fail a lot, you are way more likely to succeed if you learned from your mistakes and failures. That it’s what creates real success!
Did you get lost in your thoughts because of these lines above? Think of the amount of opportunities that you could have embraced. That salary raise, that possible girlfriend/boyfriend etc.
#6 GIVE UP DISTINGUISHING BETWEEN YOUR WORK LIFE AND YOUR PRIVATE LIFE
Work shouldn’t be your pleasure. But it should cause you some pleasure because in that way your work doesn’t feel like work and it feels more like a hobby. Try to abandon this fake idea that your professional life isn’t also your personal life.
At work, it’s possible to make friends. It’s possible to be ale to evolve your personal skills and techniques. You can develop skills that in the future may help you become a successful entrepreneur for example.
Try to do something that pleases you (in preference), so that it’s easier to become REALLY GOOD at it and therefore, a success. If you focus on this mindset it’s much easier to achieve success.
#7 GIVE UP YOUR PRIDE
Forget about pride, pride sucks. Pride is destructive. Pride stops you to apologize to people, to your friends, to your co-workers, your family and it can cause severe destruction in your life. You can lose your job, your girlfriend, your friends etc. And these are only a few examples, pride can destroy much more.
Asking for help is not wrong or bad. In the end, we ALL need people to help us, that is what makes life interesting. You are part of something that can help a certain person, and by doing that you make her life better and you are a part of it. This is real life, it’s actually about PEOPLE.
Is entrepreneurship about money?
No, is about helping people.
So WHY not ask for help? Pride?
Forget about it.
Help yourself and ask for help when it’s necessary my friend.
#8 GIVE UP ACCEPTING YOUR WEAKNESSES
We ALL have weaknesses. Your biggest weaknesses are the ones that should especially be fought! Leaving your weaknesses behind is letting LIFE behind. Is simply giving up to become the BEST version of yourself. That version that explains why you were born.
That version of you that would become a great entrepreneur, a great dancer, a great football player etc. When you FIGHT your weaknesses, you will live the life you came to live for. And also, you live to inspire other people.
Do you want a better life purpose than this?
Improve your own life and still teach people how to overcome their fears?
Focus on winning, focus on overcoming your fears, beat them, train your mind to FACE fears whenever they appear. You WILL become more confident, more unbeatable towards life!
#9 GIVE UP THE PERFECT PLANS
Don’t plan excessively. Don’t wait for that “perfect moment” and for the perfect tools. There is no perfect plan in life and there’s no plan that can guide you without errors towards success.
You can’t become a successful entrepreneur overnight because the path of success is FULL of failures. You have to make mistakes, learn from them, try again, make some more mistakes, learn from those too and keep going. Every single time you try to achieve something you have to understand that failing is part of the road to success.
Some companies were founded in the middle of “storms” (if you know what I mean). At the middle of chaos, certain entrepreneurs found a solution to a problem, kept the dream alive by working a lot, until it finally became a success. There are companies like Buscape (www.buscape.com.br) that in the beginning were threatened to be prosecuted and now it’s a huge success. This is because they had no plans on how to deal with certain part of the business, but everything worked out.
You should ACT. You should take real ATTITUDE and stop writing things on paper. ACTION builds self-confidence, generates satisfaction, gives you experience and make you more active.
Taking action will make you go to the best school that there is, the school of LIFE. Every time there is a lesson, a new achievement, a harder challenge. A plan is good because it shows you HOW to act and what is the probability of your success, but even so it’s not guaranteed.
Practice makes it perfect. Practice makes it achievable. If you made plans in the past but didn’t take action you know today were you missed. But if you didn’t plan much and instead, took LOTS of action I BET you learned a lot. Life is the best school there is, I can assure you.
Always plan, but focus on taking action.
SUCCESS COMES EASIER AFTER YOU BEAT YOUR LIMITATIONS
Many hard experiences in life are just “training” for you to become what you should be in the future. When you understand this your mind becomes more solid, more resistant to failure and more positive. The success that comes easy doesn’t satisfy us, that’s the harsh truth, that’s how people work.
Just pay attention, and see if you are trying to be the best version of yourself.
