    PRODUCTIVITY HACKS: The Productivity Hacks For Staying Focused That You Haven’t Heard About

    Sometimes you need to know how to focus in order to get what you want. The right client, the right job, the right prize, doesn’t matter. You must keep pushing yourself and focus on the right things so you can keep moving toward your goals.

    And to do that, you got to stay focused.
    So here’s what I’ll share with you, my friend:

    • 5 master productivity techniques
    • 1 truth that you must know about productivity

    Let’s begin because we don’t have much time to spend on unnecessary words.

    PRODUCTIVITY TECHNIQUE #1: NO SOCIAL MEDIA
    Awesome! No Facebook, no Twitter, no Instagram and nothing else! Ok done! Done?! OH NO…but WAIT! What if you work with social media? What if social is your business and you manage a web tool of some kind and you need to constantly keep checking Twitter several times at the same day for instance???

    It’s easy.
    You use another browser to save all your data from your business account.
    This way you will only operate in a browser with social accounts that are all related to your business and there will be no option for you to curse your friends at your Facebook page, read your Twitter feeds and lose 2 hours of the day etc.

    HINT: ONLY USE A BROWSER FOR WHEN YOU ARE IN BUSINESS-MODE!

    And here are a few options for you to use when in Business-Mode:

    • Chrome – Download
    • Firefox – Download
    • Microsoft Edge – Download
    • Opera – Download
    • Safari – Download
    • Sea Monkey – Download

    Those are the most famous nowadays so whatever you pick from the above list, I personally approve it. But there are other options you can consider if you like. Some are in this nice browser review: Reviews.

    Ok? You promise now to stop accessing your personal social media accounts and focus only on work? Promise? Good. Now let’s continue this productivity hacks article.

    PRODUCTIVITY TECHNIQUE #2: NO PHONE CALLS OR TIME-WINDOW PHONE CALLS
    You don’t need a phone to do most of the things you do today so it’s probably that you are using it for things like Whats app and other famous Apps that are constantly sucking the productivity out of you. It’s crucial that you kill every evil that may keep blocking you from getting things done.

    And phone calls are definitely one of them.
    Here are my personal tips for dealing with phone calls even with your customers:

    PHONE PRODUCTIVITY HACK #1: DIRECT
    Every person who CALLS YOU have a motive to make that phone call and THAT matters to you. Ok. But the rest, is mostly neediness. And that’s why you need to cut that part off the phone call and focus only on what matters. Received a phone call? Straightly ask: “Hi, I’m in a rush here but I have a few minutes, so how can I help you?”. Attack the motive. Period.

    PHONE PRODUCTIVITY HACK #2: TIME WINDOW CALL
    Here you define a time window to answer your phone calls and turn off your phone so you can’t be bothered. This must be preached to every person to whom you provide your phone number or else they’ll think your line doesn’t work and you may lose customers, friends and your mom’s love. Surely, you can have a second phone just for emergencies but pass that number ONLY to people you trust and empathize that they should NEVER share that number!

    PHONE PRODUCTIVITY HACK #3: TIME WINDOW TALK
    Don’t allow yourself to stay on the phone for more than 10 minutes. If the subject is taking too much of your time and it is IMPORTANT, then you must ask for a meeting. Period. Don’t let your time be drained. Set a meeting and stay productive for the rest of the day.

    PRODUCTIVITY HACK #3: NO INTERNET
    Ok……THIS ONE IS HARD! But is a necessary evil if you want to get things done sometimes. If you work online — like me — then the internet is a tool but you must think on it just as it is: A TOOL!

    There is no room for Youtube.
    There is no room for Internet browsing.
    There is no room for fun, only work.

    THE MEANING OF INTERNET: A TOOL TO ACCOMPLISH YOUR DAILY GOALS

    If your work doesn’t allow you to stay fully offline then you must control yourself to focus only on the right sites that are work-related. The rest….must be blocked. No excuses.

    And here are a few tools to block websites that will steal your work hours:

    And don’t forget that this also takes into account your smartphone internet! So don’t try to cheat the system. By reducing the amount of time online, you’ll surely get rid off these distractions as well:

    • Whats app
    • Email
    • Social media
    • Netflix…

    And the list goes on…
    Productivity is a very pretty subject and everybody loves it. But when it’s time to do painful things people run away from it. Well my friend….

    No pain, no gain.
    Now let’s continue.

    PRODUCTIVITY HACK #4: WRITE 3 GOALS FOR THE NEXT DAY ON A PIECE OF PAPER
    Most productivity coaches teach that you create your TO-DO list and just by doing that you’ll hit every goal at the end of the day successfully. But that isn’t entirely true. Most of us struggle with the idea that we are about to face a HUUUUUUUUGE set of TO-DO things and as a result of pre-framing all those tasks in our heads…..we….

    Procrastinate.

    So here’s something curious:

    WHEN YOU WRITE YOUR GOALS ON A PIECE OF PAPER IT FORCES YOU TO ACCOMPLISH THEM

    Why most of us are like that? I don’t know and neither does science (yet!) but I do know that writing down your daily goals you FORCE you to go get those goals done by the end of the day for sure. This productivity hack messes with our pride somehow making us believe that if we FAIL then it means that we are a failure.

    So you use your PRIDE as a partner and to make sure you don’t fail on yourself.
    “But something is still missing Peterson….”

    Yeah, you are right.
    I defined just 3 goals for you to write it down.
    Why?

    Because by doing that, your mind won’t create that much resistance to enter Work-mode. You’ll start things faster because your mind will think: “Hey, is just these 3 tasks. That’s easy, so let’s do it!”. Do you see where I am getting at?

    Start by writing only 3 tasks for the day and then, after you start getting a nice pace you can upgrade your number of tasks. But remember to set something that is achievable by the end of the day or else you’ll get easily frustrated.

    Nothing like: “Create an article in 15 minutes” or “Write half of my Ebook”
    Be realistic and push yourself but not that hard enough to compromise quality and your end goals. Your daily routine should always take quality into account. Always.

    PRODUCTIVITY HACK #5: PHONE ALARM CLOCKS
    Technology is your friend sometimes if you know how to approach her. A simple hack I personally use a lot is setting different alarm clocks on my smartphone with tasks I must accomplish at the day.

    It works like a charm.
    You’ll need to reproduce these basic steps:

    • 1. Write down your TO-DO List
    • 2. Define the amount of time for each task
    • 3. Configure 1 alarm clock per 1 task

    And just so you don’t forget, here’s an important rule you must know before using this:

    SET THE MOST IMPORTANT TASKS FOR THE HOURS YOU ARE MOST PRODUCTIVE!

    FINAL WORDS: A TRUTH YOU MUST KNOW ABOUT PRODUCTIVITY
    It’s important to understand that productivity is something you need to keep pursuing until you reach a level where you’ll do most of the things you are now forcing yourself to do automatically.

    Why?
    Because you need to create Habits.
    Habits will transform what you are forcing to do now into something that you do naturally changing your inner self bit by bit until you start becoming a totally different person.

    You won’t change after you try this for 1 week.
    But you’ll definitely change after you try this for 8 weeks.
    Some habits you’ll build faster and others you will struggle to incorporate on your mind and body. That’s the reality. There are so many bad habits that you may have acquired so far, that fighting against them will be a HUGE BATTLE for you.

    But remember:

    YOU MUST PERSEVERE ON YOUR PRODUCTIVITY PLAN UNTIL ALL OF ITS STEPS BECOMES YOUR HABITS!
