What are words that SELLS in copywriting? Do you know? Are there any “secret and powerful” words that can generate that buyer-impulse making him get the goods? Yes, there is. This is all well-based on human psychology, social behaviors and of course….marketing. This article you are about to read is powerful stuff to keep in your memory, my friend. I am going to present YOU a very small and also very powerful list of 7 simple words that can instantly reinforce a sale on a potential customer that’s reading your work.

Copywriting is an awesome field to work with, once you start to master it.
And here’s another step forward to improve your writing skills and become more engaging at your texts.

Let’s begin.

COPYWRITING WORD #1 – YOU
When you say “YOU” to people through your writing, it will seem for your customer like that whole content was personally made JUST for him! It’s like your customer is reading something very exclusive, that involves a very deep level of caring and a strong willing to connect with him, and ultimately…HELP him!

I’ll show you some examples of strong and appealing uses of the word “YOU” and you can judge if at least one sentence made you travel in your thoughts and triggered your emotions.

Ready?

EXAMPLE #1:”WHAT AM I ABOUT TO SHOW YOU IS NOT FOR EVERYBODY. EVEN YOU MAY NOT BE THE RIGHT CLIENT FOR THIS PRODUCT”

EXAMPLE #2:”THERE ARE SOME PEOPLE WHO GIVE UP VERY EASILY DUE TO LIFE’S ADVERSITIES, BUT…I FEEL YOU MAY BE DIFFERENT…SINCE YOU ARE CONSIDERING TO INVEST IN OUR PRODUCT. THAT’S THE RIGHT MINDSET. I’LL NOW ONLY REINFORCE HOW THIS CAN HELP YOU SO YOU DON’T WASTE TIME!”

EXAMPLE #3:”MAKE YOU AWESOME. MAKE YOU AN INFLUENCE TO THE WORLD”

How did that feel? Did I sell it?

COPYWRITING WORD #2 – NEW
People enjoy NEW things in life, without exception. That new car, that new girlfriend/boyfriend, that new entrepreneur adventure, that new jeans etc. And why? Can you GUESS why “NEW” is a captivating word to use at copywriting?

Because it’s linked to emotions.
Remember that day when you bought that AWESOME thing using the money you saved for months (or years) to be able to buy it? Did you felt accomplished? Happy maybe? Did it give you motivation and improved your life?

That’s right, I bet you felt at least one of those feelings when you bought something NEW! The reason why people are hooked by this word is because the human brain ALWAYS associate WORDS with feelings!!! So when you say the word “NEW” you are actually saying to the client:

“HEY! REMEMBER THAT TIME WHEN YOU FELT GREAT ABOUT BUYING THAT THING? THIS CAN BE JUST LIKE THAT TIME! YOU’LL FEEL THE SAME EMOTIONS WHEN YOU GET THIS!”

Makes sense?
Let me give you some examples as well for this powerful copywriting word so I can prove you (hey! the word “you” again!) that I’m not mumbling things around and spitting crap content.


EXAMPLE #1: “DO YOU WANT TO HAVE A NEW SOURCE OF INCOME — THAT DEMANDS HARD WORK — WITHIN 5 MONTHS? THEN SUBSCRIBE AND READ THE 10.000-WORD TUTORIAL!!!”


EXAMPLE #2: “I’LL TEACH YOU HOW TO CREATE A WHOLE NEW BRAND FROM SCRATCH USING JUST A LAPTOP, 5.000 DOLLARS AND A POWERFUL MINDSET”

EXAMPLE #3: “NEW THINGS IN LIFE GIVE YOU MOTIVATION TO KEEP MOVING FORWARD. BUT….ARE YOU TAKING NEW KINDS OF ACTION TO GENERATE NEW RESULTS?”

How was that for you?

COPYWRITING WORD #3 – FREE
HELL YEAH!! FREE !!!!!! Free MONEY! Free Xbox!!! Free articles for your blog (or wait…no…no free articles. I charge for them). The bottom of the line is that the word “FREE” is powerful because reminds people of GIFTS — and we all love gifts! Right?

In copywriting, though, you’ve to use this word wisely because if you overuse it, it will look like what you are selling or offering has no value at all! So….watch out and pay attention, read your whole content and DOUBLE CHECK if you would buy yourself the product that you are selling.

Ok, Ok, I’ll show you some nice examples of this word too, relax.


EXAMPLE #1: “THOSE 3 MAIN PROBLEMS YOU HAVE AT YOUR COMPANY TODAY, I CAN SOLVE THEM ALL WITH THIS SERVICE. BUT I’LL ONLY CHARGE YOU FOR 2 OF THESE SERVICES, THE 3rd ONE, WILL BE FOR FREE!”

EXAMPLE #2: “FREE PROFESSIONAL WEBSITES? YES, IT’S POSSIBLE AFTER YOU READ THESE 3 BOOKS THAT I’LL PRESENT TO YOU”

EXAMPLE #3: “FREE MEALS DOESN’T EXIST, BUT HERE IS A FREE QUALITY SERVICE THAT CAN BOOST YOUR COMPANY’S SALES IN 3 MONTHS”

Using the right approach, you can enhance your content with this powerful word.
But again, don’t forget to use it wisely or this can backfire.

COPYWRITING WORD #4 – BECAUSE
Have you ever wanted to buy something but your rational side block you from buying it? That’s when “BECAUSE” comes in and can change EVERYTHING! People will rationalize when they see something that can cost a big amount of money, but if you present a very good argument using “BECAUSE”, they will EASILY leave money at your lap!

Why?
B-E-C-A-U-S-E you destroy the client’s reasons for not buying the product and, at the same time, reinforces that it’s more LOGICAL to BUY that product! Awesome right?! A single word can change everything. The mind controls what actions you should take, applying logical reasons most of the times and blocking you from buying the product, BUT you can always make a shift and change the probabilities game.

And here are some powerful copywriting applications for this word:

EXAMPLE #1: “THIS PRODUCT IS DIFFERENT. WAY DIFFERENT. SOMETHING YOU’VE NEVER SEEN ON THE MARKET BECAUSE OF ITS EXCELLENT HAND-MADE MATERIAL THAT IS IMPORTED FROM CHINA. PLUS, ITS LOW PRICE MAKE IT UNBEATABLE”

EXAMPLE #2: “YOU SHOULD HIRE ME AS A FREELANCE WRITER FOR YOUR WEBSITE BECAUSE YOU NEED TO GROW YOUR BUSINESS AND MAKE MORE MONEY. YOU LOSE 100% OF THE OPPORTUNITIES WHEN YOU DON’T TAKE ACTION”

EXAMPLE #3: “THIS WILL BE MORE EXPENSIVE BECAUSE I WILL STUDY ALL YOUR COMPANY’S BACKGROUND FIRST, LOOK AT YOUR CLIENT’S NEEDS SECOND AND THEN CREATE A WHOLE MARKETING CAMPAIGN BASED ON THOSE DATA AFTERWARDS.”

Powerful. Objective. Reasonable.

COPYWRITING WORD #5 – INSTANTLY
We all want new things for yesterday, that’s human nature. That immediacy “NEED” we all respond to, by spending our hard-earned money is something that most of the times is…..programmed. Programmed by marketing, by social references and by our own ego.

There’s no reason to wait for tomorrow, we want it NOW!!!
We want to be able to buy things without giving it that much thought, but sometimes reasoning steps up and block you from buying what you desire just because there’s some logical reason behind it that if you consider, it will look like the best option to wait a little longer to buy that product.

But that’s when INSTANTLY gets in!
This word is going to appeal to emotions, to the LIVING part of you!
There’s no reason why you should give that much thought and not buy if your lifespan is going to be bad. Right?! WHAT IF you die tomorrow and lose the opportunity to enjoy that product? WHAT IF you lose your job and lose the power to buy it?! WHAT IF the price of the product goes up??!?!

And by inserting this simple word…..you’ll change the client’s focus.
I can prove it again to you, let’s have more fun.

EXAMPLE #1: “THIS SOFTWARE SERVICE, WILL INSTANTLY POWER UP YOUR HR SECTOR, BY MAKING IT FASTER AND MORE EASY TO MANAGE”

EXAMPLE #2: “YES, IT’S POSSIBLE. I CAN SHOW YOU HOW THIS ADVANCED SEO TECHNIQUE CAN PUT YOUR WEBSITE INSTANTLY AT A NEXT LEVEL.”

EXAMPLE #3: “A 3-WEEK TRAINING PROGRAM THAT WILL MAKE YOU FEEL INSTANTLY BETTER AFTER YOU TAKE THE FIRST STEP”

Connect with the right emotions by using “instantly” and you will realize how powerful can a copywriter become. It’s all about emotions.

COPYWRITING WORD #6 – PURPOSE
In life, a purpose means the ULTIMATE GOAL for a human being because there’s no greater achievement for a person than to fulfill his purpose in life. When you “touch” that inner part of a client with your words, you are making him think outside the box by forcing him to:

  • imagine his ideal life
  • imagine why he exists
  • imagine how can your product become a tool to achieve those things

AND THAT’S EXTREMELY POWERFUL !!!!!!!
Without purpose you are just an animal without the power to influence and help others, your life is just an existence and not something you are proud about. BUT……..with MY product you can take yourself to that next level.

That level of greatness.
That level where everybody envies you.
That level of your Ideal Life.

Not so many people live their purpose in life because fear holds them back.
But with my product, will you not be part of that group of people. No. You’ll be awesome.

Do you feel the difference?
Purpose can drive us, can change our pattern, change our beliefs.

EXAMPLE #2: “THERE’S NO PURPOSE IN LIVING A LIFE THAT CAN’T BECOME A BOOK. THAT’S WHY I AM HERE TODAY: TO PRESENT YOUR BEST PERSONAL DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM”

EXAMPLE #3: “CAN YOU TELL ME WHY DO YOU INVEST MONEY ON STOCKS? WHAT’S THE PURPOSE BEHIND IT? WHAT DO YOU WANT TO ACHIEVE?

COPYWRITING WORD #7 – DREAM
A DREAM is different from a purpose, let me explain. A person can have multiple dreams but only ONE purpose in life. Is it clearer now? So this word can trigger multiple emotions because it also makes people imagine themselves living their multiple dreams, thus, making them live an outstanding emotional rollercoaster.

Selling dreams is very complicated because you don’t have the person’s dream blueprint to give you information, and every person is different. Sure, there are the common dreams like earning a lot of money, travel a whole year etc, but there are also unusual dreams which you can’t figure it out by yourself.

But that’s not a problem because you only need to CONNECT with the person and by “connecting”, I mean to TRIGGER the same emotions that the person feels when they picture themselves living their dreams.

Here. I’ll show you:

EXAMPLE #1: “MAKING A LOT OF MONEY IS YOUR DREAM? NO….IT’S NOT. WHAT’S YOUR TRUE DREAM IS TO BECOME FREE, THAT’S WHY YOU WANT TO EARN A LOT OF MONEY AND THAT’S WHAT I CAN PROVIDE YOU IF YOU INVEST ON THIS BOOK: FREEDOM.”

EXAMPLE #2: “IF YOU ARE LIVING YOUR LIFE AND YOU DIDN’T ACCOMPLISH YOUR DREAM YET, IT’S TIME TO MAKE A SHIFT! I AM HERE TO PROVIDE YOU FREEDOM FROM THAT 9 TO 5 JOB, FREEDOM TO WORK FROM ANYWHERE YOU LIKE, FREEDOM….TO TAKE BACK CONTROL OF YOUR LIFE.”

EXAMPLE #3: “LET ME ASK YOU A QUESTION THAT MATTERS: WHAT ARE YOU DOING DAILY TO TRY TO ACHIEVE YOUR DREAMS?

There’s a catch, though: This approach of using the word “DREAM” — and “purpose” as well — will depend on the client’s FAITH! If you are trying to sell something, the first thing you need to know is that your customer is starting to read your content from a certain “frame perspective” which WILL influence if he is even going to read the very first line (that’s why rejections don’t matter).

But hey….I guess this “obstacle” can be knocked down by the copywriter’s power.

ARE THERE ANY OTHER….WORDS?
Those are the most effective words I know (ok, that’s a lie), and I try to use them whenever I see an intelligent gap on my content that I can explore . But….since I don’t uphold all the marketing and psychology power…
